This short trailer gives a glimpse of the story behind a project between Nokia and The Humanitarian Cooperative to use virtual reality to show the impact of the ongoing refugee crisis through a new lens and to support the efforts of The United Nations Refugee Agency. Virtual reality film on Syrian refugee crisis will have an advance screening today at the annual High Commissioner’s Dialogue on Protection Challenges in Geneva, Switzerland. Captured with Nokia OZO, the world’s first VR camera purpose-built for professionals, the film immerses the viewer in the life of a Syrian refugee who has been resettled in Finland.
The full VR film will be made available to the public in January 2017.
